About the house

Hi there! We have an unfurnished room available in our beautiful house out in the Sassafras rainforest. If you love fresh mountain air, tree ferns, board games, or just a cozy mug of hot chocolate by the fire, you'll love it here. We love a good laugh and a friendly chat in passing, but we also really respect everyone's down time and peace after a long day. Meet the Housemates: Atlanta (37, she/her): I’m the homeowner and live-in landlord, and work in the disability support sector. Work keeps me pretty busy and out of the house a lot. When I do get a chance to unplug at home, I love escaping into the rainforest, hitting up local trivia nights, or catching a comedy show. Laura (40, she/her): She loves coffee, Pilates, checking out markets, visiting cafes and going for long walks. She also works in disability support. The House Setup & Specs: The House: A single-storey, 4-bedroom home completely surrounded by ferns, abundant greenery, and all sorts of visiting birdlife. Your Space: 3.3x3m and comes completely unfurnished, giving you a blank canvas to set up your own sanctuary. Shared Amenities: You'll have shared use of the bright, sunlit living spaces filled with plants, a beautiful garden to relax in, and a shared bathroom. Household Values & Expectations: We really value a home that stays clean, tidy and peaceful, with everyone happily doing their share to keep the house running smoothly. A shared love for the outdoors is a massive plus! Due to past bad experiences, we do have to mention the following: if you are a SovCit, think lizard people are among us, or find deep spiritual meaning in the word "Starseed," we probably aren't the house for you. Our crystals are strictly limited to the salt and sugar variety. Mercury can be in retrograde all it wants, but your rent payment cannot! The details: Rent: $300 a week / $1,300 per calendar month. Bond: $1,300. Move-in Date: Available now. Utilities: Shared equally. Internet is $95/mo. Recent monthly power bills ranged from $139–$190, gas is bimonthly at around $245–$265, and the quarterly water bill sits around $217. The Tech: Features a super handy keyless electronic lock system so you never lock yourself out. The deal-breakers: This home is strictly unsuitable for smokers, 420, couples, pets, or children.
